The acronym Awana comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
as taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.

AWANA  meets each Wednesday night thru the school
year at Liberty Church 6:30 PM – 8:00 PM

Our goal here at Liberty is to reach as many boys and girls with the gospel as possible.  Our night consists of three main segments which are the same for all the clubs.  We  have a game time in our gym where the kids are divided up into 4 color groups - red, blue, green, and yellow.  They are taught the importance of following rules and working as a team.  There is a handbook time where the clubbers go over Scripture verses they have learned and recite them back to a leader in their class.  There is a third section called council time.  This is where a gospel message is presented in a manor appropriate to the age group.  Over the years there have been dozens of kids ask Jesus to be their Savior and through that, God has led many family members also to Him through the children.  We have a lot of fun here on Wednesday nights and wish to spread that joy to as many as possible.

Awana is the leading ministry to help churches reach children and youth for Christ. Awana blends Bible teaching, Scripture memorization and tons of fun. The Awana ministry impacts kids, families and entire communities! Today, more than 12,000 U.S. churches run Awana with programs in all 50 states. Awana can also be found in over 3,900 churches in 109 countries and six continents.

The Children separate into clubs based on age and grade. Awana provides a night of fun, excitement, and learning. Our evenings are balanced with designated time for lessons, scripture memory and high action games!

Your child will earn a uniform shirt and merit badges based on scripture memorization. They will work from handbooks and are encouraged to complete at least one section per week. The energy on Wednesday nights is much like VBS. We have theme nights, contests and prizes. And all the while we’re helping the clubbers hide God’s Word in their hearts.
