The Journey to Freedom At Liberty
Then all the congregation of the children of Israel set out on their journey from the Wilderness of Sin, according to the commandment of the Lord, and camped in Rephidim; but there was no water for the people to drink.
—Exodus 17:1 NKJV, emphasis added
The cross of Christ is the starting place where all true freedom begins. It is the place where each new believer begins his or her individual journey of faith. The cross is like a doorway: it opens to us a new and living way of life. With the cross in our lives, we learn to walk daily in its victory.
In Matthew 16:24, Jesus said, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me” (NASB). When we do, we begin the journey of a lifetime!
The course called
“the Journey” is a 12-week study that focuses on the victory
that Jesus won for us on the cross and how to live out that
victory in daily life. It consists of three main parts: (1)
The journey to the cross leads us to freedom in Christ and
deliverance from sin. (2) The journey through the cross
empowers us to have victory over sin. (3) The journey with
the cross teaches us how to respond to the call to be a true
follower of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
'The Journey Class meets every Sunday in Room #7
